The two military diets that you should know about

The most effective diet for me was the 3day 'military diet'. I lost about 6 pounds in one week. Though, eventually I did gain it back so that made me wonder if it was water weight, less gluten and carbs therefore less bloating. I have to admit tho' once I ended the diet I reverted to my evil ways and truly the 3 day diet is best used as a spring board for changing your nutritional habits.

The 3day/military diet is as follows:

3 day diet

DAY 1 :
Breakfast - 1/2 Grapefruit, 1 Slice of Toast, 2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter and coffee or a cup of tea

Lunch - 1/2 cup of tuna, 1 slice of toast and coffee or tea (must be caffeinated)

Dinner - 3 ounces of any type of meat
1 cup of green beans, 1/2 banana, 1 small apple and 1 cup of vanilla ice cream

Tip:

Warm the apple and/or banana and use to top the icecream

Day 2:

Breakfast - 1 egg, 1 slice of toast, and 1/2 banana

Lunch - 1 cup of Cottage Cheese ( or 1 slice of Cheddar Cheese), 1 Hard Boiled Egg and 5 Saltine Crackers

Dinner - 2 hot dogs (no buns), 1 cup of broccoli, 1/2 cup of carrots, 1/2 banana and 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream

Day 3:

Breakfast - 5 saltine crackers, 1 slice of cheddar cheese and 1 small apple

Lunch - 1 hard boiled egg and 1 slice of toast

Dinner - 1 cup of Tuna, 1/2 of a banana and 1 cup of vanilla ice cream

With this diet you must drink lots of water, which is great for you whether dieting or not.

Do not substitute, these combinations have been created for optimized impact on your metabolism.

In 3 days you may have lost up to 10lbs, you can return to normal eating for 4 days but it's not recommended if your normal eating means over indulging. After the four days of relaxed eating you can begin the 3 day regimen if you wish.

Verses The Get Lean Diet

When I went searching online for the 3 day military diet again, I found the 'true' military diet, the 'Get Lean' diet on military.com. I hope I have even better results with this one, it even tells you the best time to exercise and what to eat after exercising. I'll try it out and post any weight loss. I mean it makes sense for a mom to be following a diet of this name right? I sure think so.

Note: I am not recommending that you make any drastic changes to your diet or exercise plan without getting the okay from your doctor.

  1. Thanks for your post. I also did the 3 day military diet which I learned about in a good resource site. My sister’s wedding is coming up in 2 weeks and I went on this “emergency diet” to shed more weight. I’m so happy that after 3 days, I lost 7 pounds, which is awesome! The low carb diet really works, isn’t it? I wonder how many pounds you’ve shed? Since my target weight loss goal is 10 pounds, I want to do the diet again this week to see if I can lose some more. Wish me luck! For good information and tips, this wonderful site worked wonders for me and hope it helps you as well http://3daysmilitarydiet.com/blog/marine-corps-diet.html
